Selvam comes home in the night.  Poonga lyes down on the varanda, Selvam casually asks his dad whether he had his dinner.  Poonga tries to tell about his problem, but he hesitates because he’s lack of energy to talk.  Selvam misunderstood that as he is under the influence of the alcohol.  He scolds him and went inside.  A helpless poonga looks at the Selvam pathetically.  Inside selvam gives the fruit bag to archana and Archana says to her husband not to buy fruits everyday.  Selvam doesn’t like that much, but Archana points out the for them to save money to pay back the debts.  Selvam agrees and goes out to take a bath before dinner.

Vasu comes home angrily and scold poonga for hiding the truth about the provisions.  Poonga couldn’t talk back as he has no energy left in him.  Vasu further tells they could die rather than beg from Selvam, then he says arrogantly, now they have started the business, they will earn more even if needed they can give food for selvam too, Poonga keeps quiet.  Finally Vasu says to him, not to do anything like this in future if he does then should face the consequences.  Inside he tells the same to Bhagyam, she is shocked.  Vasu asks to throw the provisions on Selvam’s face and he further tells he will throw the money soon for the provisions.  His mum asks him to give the money as soon as possible.  Selvam and Archana watch this drama quietly.  Bhagyam then asks Vasu about the collection money, her son replies hereafter he will take care of the accounts and ask his sister to come inside with the notebook.  Bhagyam too goes out.

Revathy meets Selvam outside.  Selvam hesitates to talk, but Revathy says its urgent to talk otherwise she wouldn’t.  Selvam is concerned and ask what’s the matter?  Revathy tells out the truth that, Poonga didn’t eat for two days.  Selvam doesn’t expected this and Revathy explained Archana’s behavior, she added she doesn’t want to create problems between the couple b but its necessary for Selvam to know about this and that’s why she tell this out now.  Selvam doesn’t say anything he goes inside angrily.

There Archana asks him to sit for dinner, he scolded his wife with anger and disbelief.  He asks her how could she dare to do a thing like this? He never thought Archana would stoop to this level? He goes on and on.  Archana replies she doesn’t do this to take revenge on Poonga.  Selvam frowned and Archana explains what happened earlier.  Few days ago, Bhagyam give her husband some shorteats, Poonga bullies and teases her,  chased her.  Bhagyam was sad and angry, she told one day he will comeback to her and ask her for food.  Poonga says he doesn’t need Bhagyam, as his DIL Archana will lookafter him as his mother.  Bhagyam angrily left that place.  Archana quietly observed this all.  Archana tells her husband, she knows by experience how hurt it is to be separated from the husband and she doesn’t want that happen to the Mum-in-law and father-in-law.  If still her husband thinks what she has done was wrong then she is willing to go with food and apologize to Poonga.  Selvam stops her and tells what she has done was reasonable.  She ask him to eat but he refuses as his dad didn’t eat for two days, if he skips his meal for a time won’t do any harm for him.

Rajasekar’s vehicle goes faster and suddenly it knocks a guy, Rajasekar gets down immediately and check with him.  The PC in his car identifies him as Sekar, the guy who listened to Sivagami amma’s words, left his kanja selling and turned as a goody.  Luckily he doesn’t get hurt, PC asked whether he pretends to be hit by the vehicle, but Sekar replied he gave-up that kind of things long before after Sivagami amma knock some sense into his head.  Again PC tells Rajasekar, that Sivagami amma is the Mum-in-law of the fellow Selvam, who Rajasekar put in the jail, and Sindhamani’s samapnthi.  Rajasekar obviously doesn’t like this reminder.  He asks Sekar whether he is ok and ask him to go.

At home, Poonga couldn’t sleep and suffers with hunger.  No one seems to notices him.  Inside Bhagyam, Revathy, Rani are doing preparations for grinding the rice for next day business needs.,  Vasu comes in with a rice sack, Bhagyam inquires about the rice, at the same time they have a powercut.  Vasu complaints about it, as he has to wait till the power comes then only grind the rice and put it into packets.  Bhagyam calms him and ask everyone to go to sleep till the power come.  Poonga turns this side and that side, at some point he couldn’t stand the hunger, he slowly wakes up and goes inside.  There he sees bhagyam lyes down at the varanda.  He looks at her.
